Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Big Christmas Tree (bigchristmastree.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please don't use our service.

These terms are written in plain English because we believe legal documents should be understandable.

What We Do

Big Christmas Tree is a collaborative, real-time art project where visitors can create AI-generated ornaments and place them on a shared virtual Christmas tree. It's meant to be fun, festive, and free for everyone to enjoy.

Use of Service

You agree to use Big Christmas Tree only for lawful purposes.

You agree NOT to:

• Create ornaments with hateful, violent, or illegal content
• Create ornaments depicting real people without their consent
• Create sexually explicit or pornographic content
• Attempt to bypass rate limits or abuse the service
• Interfere with other users' enjoyment of the tree
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Use automated scripts or bots to create ornaments

We reserve the right to remove any content and ban any user who violates these rules, without warning or explanation.

User Content

When you create an ornament on Big Christmas Tree:

• Your prompt and the AI-generated image become part of the public tree, visible to all visitors
• You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and share that content as part of the tree project
• We may use screenshots of the tree (including your ornament) for promotional purposes
• Ornaments are permanent — once placed, they become part of the tree's history

AI-Generated Content

Ornaments are generated using AI image generation services. We do our best to filter inappropriate content, but AI can be unpredictable. If you see something that shouldn't be on the tree, please contact us.

We make no guarantees about the quality, accuracy, or appropriateness of AI-generated images.

Donations

Donations via Buy Me a Coffee are voluntary contributions to help cover our operating costs (AI generation, hosting, etc.). Donations are:

• Non-refundable (except where required by law)
• Not purchases of goods or services
• Not tax-deductible (we are not a charity)

Donors receive bonus ornament quota as a thank-you, but this is a gesture of appreciation, not a product.

Disclaimer

Big Christmas Tree is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

We do not guarantee that:

• The service will be available 24/7 or uninterrupted
• The service will be error-free or secure
• Your ornaments will be preserved forever
• The AI will generate exactly what you want

This is a side project made for fun. We do our best, but things break sometimes.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Big Christmas Tree and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the United Kingdom.
